Lufthansa Orders 41 More Airbus Jets

Wednesday 20/09/2017 - Source: Earth Times

Lufthansa has ordered 41 Airbus jets with a catalogue price of 4 billion dollars to renew and expand its fleet, the German airline said Wednesday in Frankfurt. The contract raises current Lufthansa orders to 170 jets. The line flies about 500 planes.

The newly ordered planes comprise 30 of the Airbus A320 series for routes within Europe, plus nine long-range A330-300 planes and two mid-range versions of the A320 for group company Swiss.

Lufthansa flies both Airbus and Boeing aircraft. In December it ordered 20 Boeing 747-8 jumbo jets. It has not decided yet whether to order the Boeing 787 Dreamliner or the Airbus rival, the A350 XWB.
